Portrait of Edward Konzolo
Two reasons: one, I was in Nairobi where there are good doctors and good hospitals. Two, I had health insurance.

Edward KonzoloStroke survivor and Vice-Chairperson

Edward is a stroke survivor and a long-standing advocate for consistent, affordable access to medicines for non-communicable diseases. Speaking at the 2026 annual meeting of the Coalition for Access to NCD Medicines and Products in Nairobi, he gave two reasons for his recovery: where he was when the stroke happened, and the fact that he was insured.

His point is exact. Recovery should not depend on living in a city or having insurance. SaHA works so that the same care and rehabilitation are within reach in every county.

Ways to give

You do not have to give money to give something real.

The Purple Handkerchief is our invitation to give what you have to a survivor or caregiver who needs it: funds, medicines still in date, food, assistive equipment, professional time or a lift to a clinic.

Medicines and supplies

Blood-pressure and diabetes medicines still in date, blood-pressure monitors, glucose meters and test strips. Please contact us before dropping items off so we can confirm what is short.

Assistive equipment

Walking aids, wheelchairs, transfer boards and communication aids in good condition. We match donated equipment to survivors who need it, at no cost to them.

Food and essentials

Flour, cooking oil, clothing and other basics for survivors and caregivers going through a hard season.

Professional time

Physiotherapists, occupational and speech therapists, nurses, counsellors and community health workers: a few hours a month can change someone's recovery.

Host a medical camp

Workplaces, churches, mosques, shopping malls, schools and counties can host free screening for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and BMI. We bring the team; you bring the community.

Transport and logistics

Rides to clinic appointments and rehabilitation sessions, and safe space to store donated equipment.

Giving money

Bank and M-Pesa details will be published here once they are confirmed by the Association's treasurer. To give today, please contact us and we will send confirmed details directly.

SaHA handles every resource with prudence, transparency and accountability. If you receive a request for money that claims to come from SaHA and you are unsure, contact us through this website first.
